Recently, the third section of the Dalu Line East Extension Channel Improvement Project, invested by Shanghai Chengtou Channel Construction Co., Ltd. and constructed by CCCC Third Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd., successfully completed the key nodes of 193000 square meters of vacuum preloading in the shipping hub cofferdam, and fully opened the excavation and pile foundation engineering of the main structure foundation pit of the double line ship lock and control gate.

The third section of the Dalu Line East Extension Channel Improvement Project focuses on the construction of a shipping hub, including the construction of a new Class III double line ship lock, regulating gate, anti salt pump station, traffic bridge, navigation embankment and other supporting facilities. After the completion of this hub, it will become the largest inland waterway transportation hub in Shanghai. Thousand ton container ships can achieve two-way navigation, reducing the distance for inland ships to directly reach Yangshan Port by about 70 kilometers. This is of great significance for promoting river sea direct transportation and high-quality development of inland waterways, improving the efficiency of the Yangtze River Delta water transportation network, and enhancing regional flood control capabilities.

In order to promote efficiency, the project site adopts zoning construction organization, breaking the waiting time of traditional processes, and synchronizing the excavation of foundation pits with pile foundation engineering. The overall construction period is expected to be shortened by nearly one month.

At present, the third section of the East Extension of the Dalu Line project is about to enter the stage of large-scale excavation of foundation pits and pile foundation construction. It is expected that the earthwork excavation of the project will exceed 300000 cubic meters, and the pile foundation construction will exceed 6000 cubic meters. As the foundation of the hub structure, these pile foundations will not only strengthen the "steel bars and iron bones" of the main structure of the double line ship lock and control gate, but also be a decisive step for the hub to move from "underground" construction to "above ground" construction, and from design blueprints to physical engineering, laying a solid foundation for subsequent construction.
