Recently, the main structure of the Dalian Hengli Port No. 5 and No. 6 outfitting dock project, constructed by CCCC Third Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd., has been completed, laying a solid foundation for the project to be delivered on schedule.

The project is located in the Lingang Industrial Zone of Changxing Island, Dalian, and will construct two 300000 ton outfitting berths with a total length of approximately 1 kilometer. As a new project in the park following the commissioning of Pier 7 in April, Piers 5 and 6 will form a synergistic effect with the existing piers after completion, significantly enhancing the regional product transportation capacity.

Pile driving construction is the key control point of the project. In the complex geological conditions of rapid land formation in the land area, facing the geological conditions of interlocking distribution of riprap backfill area and soft soil foundation, the team overcame difficulties such as dense underground obstacles and successfully solved the quality problem of pile formation by using rotary excavation method in the thick stone filling section. By optimizing the construction organization and synchronizing the operation of 6 pile drivers during peak hours, all 1096 pile foundations were finally completed.

The comprehensive completion of Terminal 5 and Terminal 6 will work together with Terminal 7, which was put into operation in April this year, to form a modern port cluster that can accommodate two 300000 ton ships, one 30000 ton ship, and two 5000 ton ships operating simultaneously. It is expected to add an annual throughput of 5 million tons. As an important supporting project of Hengli Petrochemical Industrial Park, the project will help Dalian build a high-end, intelligent, and green first-class shipbuilding and marine equipment manufacturing industry base, promote the continuous extension of the industrial chain upstream and downstream, accelerate the construction of Liaoning Province as a strong marine economy province, and inject strong momentum into the comprehensive revitalization of Northeast China in the new era.
