The implementation scope of this project is from the east side of Chongming Nanyan Town Port to Shanghai Yangtze River Bridge, from the east side of the coal terminal of Shanghai Petrochemical Second Thermal Power Plant in Hangzhou Bay to Fengxian Bihai Jinsha and Dajinshan Island, involving a total shoreline length of 57.18 kilometers. The main construction contents of the project include the construction of 1185 meters of new beach protection reefs and 8495 meters of ecological embankments, the restoration of 975 square meters of damaged beach protection dams and 155.50 hectares of salt marsh wetlands, the construction of 3.58 hectares of tidal pools, 3.8 hectares of biological reefs, and 6.61 hectares of intertidal oyster reefs, and the simultaneous implementation of supervision and management, operation guarantee capacity improvement, ecological monitoring, and effect evaluation.
The second section constructed by the company is located in the outer sea area of the urban beach in Jinshan District, Shanghai. It starts from the coal terminal of Shanghai Petrochemical Second Thermal Power Plant in the west and ends at the sea gate of Longquan Port in the east, with a total length of about 12.5 kilometers. It is mainly responsible for the restoration of 29.15 hectares of salt marsh wetlands, 4.61 hectares of marine biological habitats, as well as the construction of intertidal oyster reefs and the construction of new marine ecological monitoring stations.
The project team stated that they will strictly adhere to the safety red line in the construction of the project, ensuring the penetration and implementation of the safety management system; Build a solid foundation for quality, conscientiously fulfill and implement quality responsibilities and process supervision; Adhere to ecological principles, create green projects, and minimize environmental disturbance to the greatest extent possible; Strengthen collaborative linkage, actively enhance close communication with the construction unit, design, supervision, and local government, reasonably allocate construction resources, complete project construction with high quality, fully promote the spirit of striving for excellence, and deliver satisfactory results to the construction unit and the people of Shanghai.
The goal of this project is to build a resilient and sustainable ecological coastal zone. By restoring, protecting, and enhancing the project area, a complete ecological network of the coastal zone will be formed, which is of great significance for unleashing the diverse ecological values of coastal zone conservation, disaster prevention and mitigation, carbon sequestration, and sink enhancement.
