Recently, the groundbreaking ceremony for the 60 meter drum laying ship of China Communications Third Navigation Bureau Second Company was held in Taizhou, Zhejiang.

The 60 meter drum laying vessel under construction has a total length of 105 meters, a width of 32 meters, a depth of 6 meters, and a design draft of 4 meters. The vessel adopts a new type of built-in flap laying structure and is equipped with an automatic control system for laying operations, which can achieve coordinated control of the entire laying process and meet the precise laying of 60 meter wide and 300 meter long deep water soft rafts. The ship is equipped with an energy storage system, which can significantly improve the operational efficiency and green environmental protection capabilities of the ship. It is currently the most powerful and structurally innovative green intelligent laying ship in China.

The construction of a 60 meter drum laying vessel will accelerate the transformation of China Communications Third Navigation Bureau Second Company's own ships towards industrialization, digitization, and greening. It is an important measure to further consolidate its traditional advantages in hydraulic engineering, port and shipping, and promote major equipment upgrades and core process innovations.
After completion, the ship will directly serve major national projects such as the Yangtze River Estuary Deepwater Channel Management, South Channel Phase II, North Port Channel, and Hengsha Shoal Remediation, providing solid equipment guarantees for improving navigation capacity, ensuring ecological security of the coastal zone, and promoting coordinated regional economic development.
